Born & raised in PG county, Maryland, I began drawing at the early age of 4. Throughout life, I would come to develop a love for creative arts. I found joy in sketching, writing music, painting, photography, etc. 

I started to play around with tattooing at the age of 19 and had the opportunity to apprentice at Red Octopus Tattoos in Prince Frederick, MD at the age of 21. Unfortunately it was short lived. 

As time went on I found myself losing touch with art and falling into a cycle of 9 to 5’s. It wasnt until 2016 that I decided to get back to what I knew I could be great at…tattoos.

I started tattooing full time in 2016 at Red Octopus Tattoos in Suitland, MD. From there I was able to learn techniques from other artists, push myself to do better, and build a solid clientele. I put in good work!

The opportunity given to me by Red Octopus was one of the greatest turning points in my life and I will always appreciate them. But I knew I wanted more. More for myself. More for my wife and family. I wanted to leave a legacy. 

In 2019 I left Red Octopus and began tattooing independently under the brand in which I have become today, Rico Inkk. With the support of my family, friends, clientele, and tattoo community, I have been able to maintain success, even through a pandemic. This is just the beginning.
